Associate Attorney needed for Florham Park office

A law firm specializing in employment and business litigation is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its government representation and civil litigation practice groups in Florham Park, NJ. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in areas such as government representation, complex commercial cases, insurance defense, and general civil litigation. This role offers an opportunity to handle cases from inception to completion, including drafting motions, taking depositions, and conducting oral arguments.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to clients, determining the best course of action based on their needs.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and briefs.
• Represent clients in court, arguing motions during legal proceedings.
• Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, and motions in a variety of civil cases.
• Develop case strategies and solutions tailored to client needs.
• Handle litigation from start to finish, including depositions and oral arguments.
• Participate in trial preparations and potentially serve as first or second chair in trials.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of litigation experience, particularly in government representation, commercial cases, or insurance defense.
• Experience handling litigation from inception to completion, including depositions and oral arguments.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing with the New Jersey Bar.

Skills:

• Proficient in legal research using Westlaw and Lexis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and public speaking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Trial experience is preferred but not required.
• Property tax appeal experience is a plus but not required.
