Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks a California-licensed litigation attorney to join a national team remotely. This position is primarily focused on managing commercial collection litigation cases within California courts, supported by a team based in another state. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of litigation experience and a solid understanding of California law. While the position is remote, there may be occasional in-person court and virtual appearances.

Duties:

• Case Management: Handle commercial collection litigation matters filed within California, with support from non-attorney professionals.
• Court Appearances: Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as required, locally to the attorney’s residence.
• Client Communication: Regularly update clients on case progress, strategy, and developments.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other attorneys and team leads across the firm on case management, procedural policies, and business development strategies.
• Litigation Strategy: Develop case strategies and implement legal approaches in managing litigation and creditor-related cases.

Requirements:

• Experience: A minimum of three years of litigation experience, particularly in California courts.
• Licensing: Must be licensed to practice law in California.
• Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with creditors' rights and collection law is preferred, but not required.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client updates and court appearances.
• Autonomy and Teamwork: Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active California Bar license.

Skills:

• Legal Expertise: Strong understanding of litigation procedures in California courts.
