Senior Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to join its New York offices, offering a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in civil defense litigation, with a focus on general liability, professional liability, and employment-related claims. This role offers the opportunity to manage diverse and challenging cases, collaborate with a close-knit team, and leverage the resources of a large firm while enjoying the camaraderie and support of a smaller firm atmosphere.

Duties

• Lead clients through all phases of litigation, from case initiation to trial, focusing on matters related to general liability, professional liability, and employment law.
• Handle complex legal research, drafting, and document management.
• Prepare and argue motions, manage discovery, and participate in depositions.
• Provide clients with clear legal analysis, status updates, and strategic advice.
• Collaborate with team members and senior attorneys in case strategy and execution.
• Maintain active communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders throughout litigation.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in litigation.
• Must be barred in New York.
• Experience in casualty, labor law, construction defect, professional liability, medical malpractice, and general liability is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in an insurance defense firm is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple cases, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency with legal research software (e.g., LexisNexis).

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York.
