A law firm in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Immigration Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of immigration law, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload. This role involves representing clients in immigration matters, from removal proceedings to family-based petitions, and requires strategic and practical legal expertise.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a workload of cases effectively.
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and adjust immigration applications/packets as necessary.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Conducted strategic immigration consultations with potential clients and determined necessary strategies.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to determine potential benefits for clients.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Proficiency in handling Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, Legal Writing, Detained cases, Citizenship applications, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player open to strategizing and working with fellow associates.
  • Proven track record of moving legal cases forward and managing a caseload effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Arizona.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of immigration law and procedures.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of professionalism and client service.
