Job Overview: A prestigious law firm in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a dedicated Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its team. This role provides an opportunity to make a significant impact on clients' lives while developing valuable skills in immigration law. The selected candidate will work closely with senior attorneys and collaborate with a skilled legal team to manage cases and provide expert legal representation in immigration proceedings.

Duties:

  • Provide legal explanations of immigration concepts and offer strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings, including appearances in Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Oversee a personal caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct intake interviews and assessments with detained clients at designated centers.
  • Prepare and file a range of immigration applications, focusing on removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review and adjust immigration packets to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on updates and changes in immigration law.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients to determine case strategy.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS appearances.
  • Analyze cases to determine potential benefits for clients and communicate options effectively.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for diverse immigration matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in immigration law.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload independently and drive cases forward.
  • Strong collaboration skills, open to teamwork and strategy development with other associates.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts.
  • Proficiency in handling family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the United States.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar license in any U.S. jurisdiction (Texas bar preferred).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of immigration laws and legal procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and manage multiple cases.
