Job Overview:
A law firm is currently seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney with expertise in handling, supervising, and managing insurance defense litigation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for trial work and the desire to supervise and develop junior associates. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-exposure litigation matters involving personal injury, premises liability, defamation, construction defects, sexual abuse, and insurance coverage claims. The firm provides a supportive, family-oriented environment and offers the flexibility of remote or hybrid work arrangements.

Location:
Irvine, California

Duties:

• Act as the point person on complex, high-exposure litigation matters
• Manage and supervise cases involving general liability, personal injury, defamation, construction, sexual assault/abuse, and insurance coverage claims
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, drafting motions, pleadings, and conducting court appearances
• Provide mentorship to junior associates and contribute to their professional development
• Prepare cases for potential trial and represent clients in court
• Work with a collaborative team in a friendly and open-door environment
• Manage multiple tasks and cases efficiently while maintaining work-life balance

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of litigation experience, including written discovery, drafting motions, pleadings, conducting and defending depositions, and court appearances
• Trial experience is a plus
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active California Bar license
• On-site work preferred, but remote/hybrid arrangements will be considered for qualified candidates

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar

Skills:

• Expertise in insurance defense litigation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage complex cases and supervise junior associates
• Experience with depositions, court hearings, and trial preparation
