Finance Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Finance Associate Attorney to join its New York City office. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of law firm experience in corporate and/or project financing transactions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of financing matters, from drafting and negotiating credit agreements to collaborating closely with clients and other legal professionals. The firm seeks candidates with a strong commitment to client service, excellent communication skills, and a desire to continually develop their expertise across various financing transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate credit agreements and other key financing documents
• Assist with the structuring and execution of corporate and project financing transactions
• Advise clients on a range of financing options, including secured and unsecured loans, syndicated loans, and project finance
• Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and provide tailored legal solutions
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and other legal professionals to ensure the successful execution of financing transactions
• Manage due diligence processes and prepare necessary closing documents
• Monitor and ensure compliance with financing agreements and related legal requirements
• Conduct legal research to stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and market trends
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing responsive and high-quality legal advice

Required Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience at a law firm handling corporate and/or project financing transactions
• Experience drafting and negotiating credit agreements and other financing-related documentation
• Familiarity with various types of financing transactions, including secured and unsecured lending, syndicated loans, and project financing
• Strong academic credentials and professional references
• Commitment to client service and a demonstrated ability to meet clients’ needs
• Interest in learning new areas of financing law and expanding skill sets

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with both corporate finance and project finance transactions
• Familiarity with cross-border financing and complex international finance structures
• Knowledge of market trends and developments in corporate finance

Education and Certifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar (or eligibility to obtain)
