Banking and Financial Services Attorney
The candidate will advise financial institutions and commercial lenders in the increasingly complex environment in which they operate. Assist and manage a multitude of financial lending transactions, such as commercial and consumer financing, bank loans and asset-based transactions. Structure transactions to help protect client’s commercial interest. Negotiate and document contractual relationships between lenders and borrowers. Represent clients in complex corporate and consumer bankruptcy cases, debt restructurings and related litigation matters. Handle and manage commercial and consumer financial services litigation defense. Handle and manage complex litigation and regulatory enforcement matters. Handle and manage debt collections on behalf of financial institutions, commercial lenders, and businesses. Counsel financial institutions to ensure that they are compliant and act within state and federal regulations. Draft and review pleadings, motions, and court documents. Research caselaw, and state and federal statutes that correlate with ongoing litigation matters. Active in business development, including professional organization involvement and writing. Supervise paralegals, staff, and team members as your role progresses. Juris Doctor from an accredited law school is required. Should have 2-5 years of relevant in-house and/or law firm experience as an attorney with a strong interest in Banking and Finance law. Should preferably have 5+ years of specific subject matter experience, drafting, and client advising. First chair trial experience is preferred. Complex litigation experience is a plus. Excellent academic and professional credentials is preferred. Must be currently licensed with one state Bar and in good standing.
