A law firm is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team in Redwood City, CA. The role involves managing a caseload, interacting with clients, and collaborating with a dedicated Criminal Defense Team. The successful candidate will handle complex criminal cases and provide strategic legal counsel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Report to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney and oversee a personal caseload.
• Advise clients on their legal rights and draft legal documents related to their cases.
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and offer strategic advice following each hearing.
• Manage court appearances, trials, draft motions, conduct witness interviews, and perform legal research.
• Analyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents and applicable laws.
• Effectively manage multiple cases, ensuring timely and thorough handling.
• Provide legal analysis to determine potential case benefits or risks.
• Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or challenge prosecution charges.
• Prepare clients for depositions and develop case strategies based on input from witnesses and experts.
• Collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team to strategize and manage cases efficiently.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in criminal defense.
• Experience with complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Skills:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical abilities.
• Effective case management and strategic planning skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) Degree.

Certifications:

• Active Bar license (CA preferred).
