A law firm in New Haven is seeking a Labor and Education Attorney to join its traditional labor and employment law and education law practice group. The candidate will represent businesses, municipalities, boards of education, and charter schools. The role involves active participation in the analysis and resolution of legal issues, contract and policy review, union contract interpretation and negotiations, and maintaining regular client contact. The ideal candidate must be admitted to practice law in Connecticut, possess strong academic qualifications, and demonstrate excellent writing, research, communication, and critical thinking skills. Preferred qualifications include experience in education, municipal, or employment law matters, with familiarity in federal and state laws governing public entities. The Labor and Education Attorney will be an integral member of the traditional labor and employment law and education law practice group. The role requires active involvement in legal issue analysis, contract and policy review, union contract interpretation and negotiations, and maintaining regular client contact. The candidate should have 1-5 years of legal experience, a diligent work ethic, and the ability to multi-task and work independently.

 

Duties:

  • Represent businesses, municipalities, boards of education, and charter schools.
  • Analyze and resolve legal issues.
  • Review contracts and policies.
  • Interpret and negotiate union contracts.
  • Provide client service through regular client contact.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to practice law in Connecticut.
  • 1-5 years of legal experience.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

 

Skills:

  • Strong academic qualifications.
  • Excellent writing, research, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience in education, municipal, or employment law preferred.
