A law firm seeks a mid-level tax associate with 3 to 6 years of experience in the taxation of corporate and partnership transactions. This role will involve significant engagement in transactional activities, such as mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, joint ventures, and fund formation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong academic qualifications, outstanding communication abilities, and a capacity to work effectively independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Duties

• Assist in managing tax-related issues in corporate and partnership business transactions.
• Work on various transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity deals, joint ventures, and fund formations.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and provide insightful analysis on tax implications for various transactions.
• Draft and review legal documents, including contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with tax laws.
• Collaborate with clients and team members to deliver strategic tax advice and planning.
• Remain informed about current tax laws and regulations to provide accurate guidance in all transactions.

Requirements

• 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in tax law, particularly involving corporate and partnership transactions.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate complex transactions and formulate effective tax strategies.
• Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Excellent academic record, with a focus on tax-related subjects.

Certifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in NC.
