A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Memphis office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney with 1-5 years of litigation experience. Duties

  • Evaluate incoming cases and develop action plans, budgets, and strategies to address client needs.
  • Identify the appropriate pleading requirements for each case and assign tasks to paralegals and support staff as necessary.
  • Draft discovery responses, manage document production, and ensure timely compliance with legal procedures.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings, providing thorough and accurate reports.
  • Negotiate settlements, secure client approvals, and assist in preparing cases for trial when needed.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, colleagues, and staff to keep everyone informed and ensure smooth case management.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on civil matters.
  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee and in good standing with the state bar.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn case management systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Tennessee Bar in good standing.
