Job Overview:
A well-established law firm based in Clearwater, FL, is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney specializing in Construction Law to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil litigation, with a focus on construction disputes, insurance defense, or similar areas of law. The position offers an opportunity to handle complex cases, including transactional and litigation matters while working in a collaborative and dynamic environment. This is a non-remote, full-time role based in Clearwater, FL.

Duties:

• Manage transactional and litigation matters related to construction law
• Prepare and negotiate contracts, as well as construction-related documents
• Draft and enforce liens
• Conduct formal discovery and defend depositions
• Perform legal research and provide analysis of complex legal issues
• Draft and argue motions in court
• Attend hearings, mediations, and trials
• Manage an independent caseload from inception to trial
• Collaborate with the team on joint projects while maintaining individual responsibilities

Requirements:

• Active membership in the Florida Bar Association, in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on insurance defense or construction litigation
• Ability to commute to the office daily (this is not a remote position)
• Willingness to travel for court appearances, client meetings, and site inspections
• Strong analytical, research, communication, and legal writing skills
• A proactive and innovative approach to handling complex legal matters

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Florida Bar membership

Skills:

• Proficient in legal research, writing, and case management
• Strong understanding of construction law and related regulations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle complex litigation and provide creative solutions
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
