Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney with 5-7 years of experience in commercial litigation to join its Houston-based Litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to handle complex litigation cases from inception through trial, including experience with discovery, hearings, depositions, and trial procedures. The role requires a high degree of independence, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Duties:

• Manage all phases of complex commercial litigation cases from start to finish.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Handle discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and requests for documents.
• Appear at court hearings and prepare for trial.
• Collaborate with partners and other team members to develop case strategies.
• Negotiate settlements when appropriate.
• Ensure timely and effective communication with clients and team members.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Strong background in handling all phases of litigation, including discovery, hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Proficiency in preparing and presenting oral arguments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex cases from inception to resolution.
