Civil Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Maitland, FL is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to handle all functions of civil litigation cases from initial client meetings through to case resolution. The ideal candidate will have experience in motion practice, knowledge of litigation procedures, and strong client-focused skills. Membership in the Florida Bar is required, and bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus.

Duties:

• Manage all aspects of civil litigation cases from initial client meetings to case resolution.
• Conduct motion practice and adhere to litigation procedures throughout case management.
• Prepare and file legal pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
• Develop and implement case strategies, conduct legal research, and draft legal arguments.
• Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates, gather information, and address concerns.
• Collaborate with team members and build strong client relationships.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials as necessary.
• Provide leadership and problem-solving skills to address complex legal issues.
• Travel locally and occasionally overnight to meet clients or attend court proceedings.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Current member of the Florida Bar (required).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation (preferred).
• Experience with first-party property damage cases is preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is helpful.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Florida Bar (required).
