A law firm is currently seeking an Attorney for its Saint Louis office, specializing in civil rights. The ideal candidate should possess a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school and hold an active State of Illinois and/or Missouri Law license in good standing. The candidate should have 0-10 years of experience in civil rights. The Attorney will be responsible for advocating and protecting the civil rights of individuals, groups, or organizations. The role involves handling cases related to discrimination, constitutional violations, and other civil rights matters.

 

Duties:

  • Specialize in civil rights law, representing clients in legal proceedings related to discrimination and civil liberties.
  • Provide legal counsel on matters such as police misconduct, equal protection, and freedom of speech.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis specific to civil rights cases.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, and appellate briefs.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with advocacy groups and organizations to promote civil rights initiatives.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations impacting civil rights.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Active State of Illinois and/or Missouri Law license in good standing.
