A law firm in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a highly skilled Senior Advertising Marketing and Promotions Attorney. This role involves providing expert legal counsel in various areas of advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing transactions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with ad agency agreements, influencer and celebrity endorsements, sponsorships, online media buying, and other marketing-related legal matters. The candidate should demonstrate strong attention to detail, exceptional legal writing and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate advertising agency agreements, influencer contracts, celebrity endorsements, sponsorships, and online media buying agreements.
• Review advertising copy for compliance with false advertising laws, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and right of publicity issues.
• Provide legal counsel on compliance with contest and sweepstakes regulations.
• Advise on price advertising, recurring subscriptions, and loyalty/rewards programs.
• Handle disputes about false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division matters.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and implement marketing and advertising strategies.
• Stay updated on current trends and changes in advertising and marketing law.
• Conduct legal research and provide detailed, actionable recommendations.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing transactions.
• Proven track record in drafting and negotiating various types of marketing agreements.
• Experience with false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division disputes is highly desirable.
• Ability to review and assess advertising materials for legal compliance.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent academic credentials and outstanding legal writing and communication skills.
• Experience in a large or medium law firm setting is preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar in Arizona or eligibility for admission.

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar.
