Municipal Litigation Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks an experienced Municipal Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in general liability defense, including personal injury, municipal law, and civil rights cases. This position offers the opportunity to handle a range of litigation tasks, including court appearances, motion drafting, and depositions. Remote work options are available.

Duties:

• Appear in court for hearings, motions, and other proceedings.
• Draft legal motions, briefs, and other necessary documents for cases.
• Conduct depositions and manage discovery processes.
• Communicate and report case developments to insurance companies.
• Work closely with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies.
• Assist with case management and prepare for trial.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in municipal, civil rights, or general liability defense litigation.
• Strong experience in personal injury defense, including auto accidents and labor law cases.
• Familiarity with court procedures and experience with depositions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with clients, insurance companies, and court personnel.
• Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and meet deadlines.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar is required.
• Federal Bar admission (Southern and/or Eastern District) is a plus.
