The ideal candidate will handle workers’ compensation claims on behalf of employers and insurers, litigating cases through all phases of the legal process. Location:

• St. Louis, Missouri

Duties:

• Defend workers' compensation claims on behalf of employers and insurers.
• Manage an individual caseload and handle litigation from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings and conduct legal research as needed.
• Engage in negotiations for settlements.
• Attend hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other legal proceedings.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois (required); licenses in both Illinois and Missouri are preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in handling and defending workers’ compensation claims.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and manage a busy caseload.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois; Missouri license preferred.

Skills:

• Strong litigation and negotiation skills, particularly in workers' compensation cases.
• Excellent legal drafting and research abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and colleagues.
