A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to support its Missouri practice in the area of creditors' rights and real estate law. This role involves handling a significant volume of cases, including discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution. Duties:

  • Handle a significant volume of cases within creditors' rights, including real estate and bankruptcy matters.
  • Manage discovery practice, conduct depositions, and resolve conflicts.
  • Represent clients in court and handle related legal proceedings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues, positioning as a trusted partner and advisor.
  • Participate in appellate matters and resolve issues related to the Bankruptcy Code, TILA, RESPA, and FDCPA.
  • Assist in growing the firm's presence and contributing to its development as a top-performing firm.
  • Participate in pro bono endeavors and publications on legal matters.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in the Missouri State Bar (or ability to obtain in short order).
  • Licensed in Missouri federal district and bankruptcy courts.
  • 5+ years of litigation experience preferred, though newly licensed attorneys will be considered.
  • Familiarity with creditors' rights law, discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Appellate experience and knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code are a plus.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience in mentoring junior attorneys.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive approach to legal challenges and a commitment to superior client support.
  • Ability to handle court appearances and occasional travel.
  • Familiarity with the Missouri legal system.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Missouri State Bar (required).
  • Additional bar memberships are a plus.
