Position Title: Bankruptcy Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Cleveland, Ohio is actively seeking a talented legal professional to join its dynamic team specializing in financial reorganization and distressed asset strategy. This role is ideal for a legal practitioner with a strong foundation in corporate restructuring who thrives in high-stakes negotiations and complex courtroom proceedings. The successful candidate will bring critical thinking, persuasive communication, and the ability to advise both institutional and private entities navigating financial distress.

Duties:

• Represent businesses and financial stakeholders in bankruptcy proceedings, debt workouts, and insolvency matters

• Advise clients on Chapter 11 restructuring strategies and alternatives to bankruptcy

• Lead and participate in litigation related to reorganization plans, creditor disputes, and adversary actions

• Draft and negotiate key legal documents, including reorganization plans and restructuring agreements

• Manage and resolve disputes through negotiation, mediation, and litigation as needed

• Collaborate across legal practice areas including finance, corporate, and litigation teams

• Maintain and build strong client relationships through strategic guidance and effective communication

Requirements:

• A minimum of 6 years of experience handling corporate bankruptcies, restructurings, and financial workouts

• Demonstrated ability to manage both debtor and creditor-side engagements in complex financial matters

• Proficiency in bankruptcy court litigation, including motion practice and oral argument

• Ability to take initiative and handle matters independently with sound judgment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio or eligible for prompt admission

Skills:
