Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Towson, MD, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join their growing team. This position offers a 9-to-5 schedule with flexibility and no demanding litigation schedules. The firm specializes in consumer bankruptcy and is looking for an attorney eager to provide clients with significant, impactful legal assistance, without the pressure of billable hour requirements. The position is ideal for someone interested in becoming an expert in bankruptcy law while maintaining a balanced professional life.

Duties:

• Meet with clients to discuss their legal matters.
• Draft petitions for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcies.
• Represent clients in court and before bankruptcy trustees.
• Draft motions and responses to motions.
• Write letters and emails to clients, creditors, and opposing attorneys.
• Manage client cases to ensure successful bankruptcy discharge.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to the Maryland Bar (or eligible for admission).
• Ability to work in person at the Towson, MD office.
• Admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Maryland (or eligible for admission).
• Strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, BestCase bankruptcy software, PACER, and CRM systems.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Maryland Bar (or eligibility for admission).
• Admission to the United States District Court for the District of Maryland (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze statutes and legal documents.
• Strong communication skills, with comfort in interacting with clients.
• Ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
• Willingness to learn and develop expertise in bankruptcy law.
