Duties and Responsibilities

• Legal Representation:
  • Represent clients in workers' compensation cases, handling all aspects of litigation, including case strategy, pleadings, and motion practice.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to workers' compensation matters.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including discovery requests, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Attend hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations as required.
• Client Counseling:
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients regarding workers' compensation claims and proceedings.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to keep them informed of case status and developments.
  • Develop case strategies and advise clients on the best legal options available.
• Court Appearances:
  • Travel to various venues within California for court appearances, hearings, and depositions as necessary.
  • Present cases before administrative judges or court officials, advocating for client interests effectively.
• Collaboration and Case Management:
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, paralegals, and support staff to ensure case files are managed efficiently.

Requirements

• Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience practicing workers' compensation law.
  • Experience representing clients in court and handling litigation from inception to resolution.
• Education:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensing:
  • Must be in good standing with the California State Bar.
