Litigation Counsel

Profile

A law firm seeks a highly skilled Litigation Counsel with 8+ years of experience to join its team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing abilities, with experience drafting legal briefs and motions for both state and federal courts. This role requires someone who can manage multiple significant projects, particularly involving complex litigation in areas such as constitutional rights, real estate, and business torts. Prior hearing and trial experience is preferred. The candidate must be admitted to the California State Bar.

Duties

• Take full ownership of multiple significant litigation matters, overseeing all aspects from start to finish.
• Draft and file legal briefs, motions, and other essential documents for state and federal court proceedings.
• Represent clients in hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings when required.
• Provide counsel on legal matters involving constitutional rights, real estate issues, and business torts.
• Perform comprehensive legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
• Communicate complex legal concepts clearly to clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals to develop litigation strategies and case approaches.
• Stay up to date with changes in laws and regulations relevant to ongoing cases.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on constitutional, real estate, and business torts.
• Proven ability to draft comprehensive legal documents including briefs and motions.
• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills, with the ability to handle complex legal issues.
• Ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple cases.
• Experience with hearing and trial representation is strongly preferred.
• Admission to the State Bar of California is required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the State Bar of California.
