Duties:

• Manage and represent clients in immigration cases, including non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Prepare and file a variety of immigration applications such as removal defense, family-based petitions, and USCIS applications.
• Conduct client consultations to devise tailored immigration strategies.
• Handle diverse immigration casework, from family-based petitions to humanitarian claims.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes in immigration law.
• Prepare legal briefs and submit them for various immigration cases.
• Conduct intake and provide legal assistance to detained individuals at detention centers.
• Ensure all immigration applications and documents meet legal requirements.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
• Provide legal analysis and strategic recommendations for clients’ cases.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing immigration law.
• Ability to manage a caseload and advance legal cases effectively.
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients.
• Experience in Family-Based Petitions, EOIR, Detained Cases, Humanitarian cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Ability to explain complex immigration law concepts clearly.
• Excellent client relations skills.
• Skilled in legal writing, including preparing briefs and motions.
• Strong organizational skills to manage a high volume of cases.
