The ideal candidate will have a strong background in California and federal wage and hour laws, excellent writing skills, and experience with depositions and discovery in complex litigation matters. Strong client interface abilities and a professional approach to legal and strategic issues are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Defend clients in wage and hour litigation, including class actions, involving California and federal laws.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery requests with limited supervision, including drafting interrogatories and requests for production.
• Conduct depositions and handle motion practice related to discovery issues.
• Develop and execute discovery plans, ensuring thorough and efficient case management.
• Draft and oppose motions for class certification in wage and hour matters.
• Interface with clients, providing professional and competent advice on legal and strategic issues.
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, ensuring clear and timely follow-through on case developments.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in defending wage and hour litigation, with a preference for class actions.
• Knowledge of California and federal wage and hour laws, including overtime and meal and rest periods.
• Experience in preparing and responding to written discovery and handling discovery issues in litigation.
• Proven deposition experience and motion practice related to discovery matters.
• Strong ability to develop and execute discovery plans.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, particularly in drafting and opposing motions.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in the state of California.

Skills:

• Expertise in wage and hour laws and class action defense.
