Job Overview: A law firm in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a Litigation Innovation Attorney to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the firm’s legal practices through technology and innovation. This role involves leading initiatives to digitalize workflows, support data strategies, and implement legal technology solutions that improve client service and streamline operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and utilize the firm’s available resources and technology to develop best practices and programs.
• Lead projects aimed at digitalizing litigation practices, including automation and data capture.
• Support the firm’s data strategy by tracking matter data and monitoring the usage of practice resources.
• Serve as a resource for practice-related questions and issues.
• Vet, pilot, and support the onboarding of new technology to enhance legal practices.
• Design and implement matter management workflows, ensuring compliance with timekeeping and billing requirements.
• Create tailored solutions, including dashboards, for workflow automation, reporting, and budget tracking.
• Identify and integrate suitable resources and technology to support litigation efforts.
• Develop platforms to enhance collaboration with clients, local counsel, and third parties.
• Create and maintain knowledge libraries and databases to capture expert experiences.
• Collaborate with the Research & Information team to identify and integrate relevant practice content into workflows.
• Oversee the development and delivery of training on practice technology and client solutions.
• Support projects to integrate AI technologies into legal services and automate workflows.
• Regularly evaluate legal service delivery through data analysis and benchmarking.
• Educate staff on practice content and technology, and lead efforts to enhance utilization.
• Communicate with lawyers, paralegals, and administrators about practice content and efficiency initiatives.
• Develop and maintain case studies for marketing and business development purposes.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited university or college.
• Admission to practice law in good standing in a U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a litigation attorney in a large law firm.
