Job Overview:
A premier law firm located in Miami, FL is seeking an Associate Immigration Attorney to join its team. The position offers significant room for professional growth and provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of immigration law. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload, interact directly with clients, and collaborate with a team of experienced immigration attorneys and legal assistants.

Location:

  • Miami, FL

Duties:

  • Explain complex immigration concepts and provide strategic solutions
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)
  • Manage caseload and ensure timely progression of cases
  • Conduct intake sessions with detained individuals at immigration detention centers
  • Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions
  • Review and adjust immigration applications/packets to ensure accuracy
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law changes
  • Meet with potential clients for consultations, determine the appropriate strategy for their cases
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court or USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis to clients, identifying potential benefits for their cases
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases

Qualifications:

  • 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law
  • Ability to manage a caseload and work effectively in a team environment
  • Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to move legal cases forward
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Knowledge of immigration law, particularly EOIR and USCIS matters
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
