Associate Attorney needed for Chicago office

A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will handle various legal tasks related to family law, including providing legal advice, conducting research, negotiating, and representing clients in court hearings and trials. This role involves managing a substantial caseload, drafting legal documents, advising clients on transactions, and participating in marketing and networking activities.

Job Duties:

• Provide legal advice and counsel to clients in matters related to family law.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 45 or more files, ensuring timely and effective representation.
• Represent clients in court proceedings and before government agencies.
• Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, agreements, and contracts.
• Negotiate settlements for legal disputes on behalf of clients.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legal standards and regulations.
• Acquire new clients through networking, referrals, and consultations.
• Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote the firm's services.
• Perform administrative and management functions necessary for the practice of law.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Illinois State Bar and in good standing.
• Experience practicing law, preferably with a focus on family law.
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively.
• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills, with experience in court hearings and trials.
• Excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with legal software and case management systems.
