A well-established law firm is actively seeking a skilled and motivated Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join their growing team in New York City. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work on challenging workers' compensation cases, collaborating with a dedicated group of professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in legal research, writing, and litigation, with a passion for delivering excellent client service and achieving favorable outcomes.

Duties:

• Conduct thorough legal analysis and file reviews of workers' compensation claims
• Perform in-depth legal research and draft client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, appeals, and appellate briefs
• Represent clients regularly at depositions and hearings before the New York State Workers' Compensation Board
• Prepare for and attend trials
• Manage expert witness retention and evaluation
• Maintain an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a practicing attorney
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in the state of New York (admission to additional states is a plus)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and legal research abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently, manage workload, and collaborate effectively with a team
• Ability to respond promptly to emails and phone inquiries
• Excellent client communication skills and professional demeanor

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-approved law school

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in New York (additional state certifications are a plus)
