Job Overview:

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, seeks an experienced Immigration Attorney to provide expert legal representation and strategic solutions in immigration matters. This role involves handling a diverse caseload, from removal proceedings to family-based petitions, while collaborating with clients and various organizations to navigate complex immigration laws.

Duties:

• Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a caseload effectively, ensuring timely and thorough case handling.
• Conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers.
• Prepare and review diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Present and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law changes.
• Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and determine the appropriate strategy.
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
• Provide legal analysis to identify case benefits and prepare legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

• 1-4 years of Immigration Law experience.
• Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proven record of advancing legal cases.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained matters, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and strategize with colleagues.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in California.

• Proficiency in immigration law and legal procedures.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and case management skills.
• Ability to work with diverse client backgrounds and legal situations.
