A law firm in San Francisco, CA is seeking a highly motivated Junior- to Mid-Level Patent Prosecution and Counseling Associate Attorney. This role involves primary responsibilities in patent prosecution and counseling, with opportunities to support various other related legal work.

Duties:

• Conduct patent prosecution, including drafting and filing patent applications.
• Provide patent counseling, including freedom-to-operate analyses and infringement opinions.
• Assist in patent portfolio management and strategic planning.
• Support clients in understanding patent-related legal issues and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop patent strategies.
• Conduct legal research and draft detailed legal documents.
• Participate in meetings, negotiations, and discussions related to patent matters.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in patent prosecution and counseling.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Membership in the U.S. Bar.
• Registration to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• U.S. Bar membership.
• Registration to practice before the USPTO.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of patent laws and regulations.
