Job Title: Pre-Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Southfield, MI, is seeking an experienced Pre-Litigation Attorney to manage and represent clients in a variety of personal injury cases. This role will focus on pre-litigation tasks including case assessment, client communications, and negotiating settlements. The successful candidate will work closely with a dedicated pre-litigation case manager and handle a diverse caseload involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, dog bites, and other personal injury cases.

Duties:

• Work collaboratively with a pre-litigation case manager to manage client cases
• Screen new client intakes to assess case viability
• Monitor and review ongoing cases to ensure timely and effective service to clients
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and gather necessary information
• Assist with first-party auto claims and related issues
• Identify the need for expert witnesses and retain as necessary
• Strategize to maximize the value of cases and achieve optimal outcomes for clients
• Review medical records and prepare comprehensive demand packages
• Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and other involved parties
• Maintain organization and meet strict deadlines while handling multiple cases
• Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute to the firm's collaborative environment

Requirements:

• Prior experience in personal injury law, particularly in pre-litigation matters.
• Strong understanding of case management, client relations, and settlement negotiations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Michigan State Bar

Certifications:

• Michigan State Bar membership required
