Traditional Labor and School Law Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Westborough, MA is seeking a Traditional Labor and School Law Attorney. The Attorney will assist with all aspects of private and public-sector labor law, including collective bargaining, unfair labor practice charges, union elections, handling grievances/arbitrations, and providing advice concerning day-to-day management of unionized workforces. Additionally, they will handle public-sector education law matters, including collective bargaining, policy drafting, administrative hearings, student rights, and other education-related issues. Excellent analytical, drafting, and verbal communication skills, strong academic credentials, practical problem-solving ability, and the ability to interact effectively with clients are required. Experience in general municipal law is preferred.

Duties:

• Assisting with all aspects of private and public-sector labor law.
• Handling collective bargaining negotiations.
• Representing clients in unfair labor practice charges.
• Conducting union elections.
• Handling grievances and arbitrations.
• Providing advice on the day-to-day management of unionized workforces.
• Handling public-sector education law matters.
• Drafting policies and representing clients in administrative hearings.
• Advising on student rights and other education-related issues.

Requirements:

• Excellent analytical, drafting, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Practical problem-solving ability.
• Ability to interact effectively with clients.
• Experience in general municipal law (preferred).

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the Massachusetts State Bar.
