POSITION PROFILE:
KnollTextiles team is seeking our next Textile Operator. The new operator will be a champion of maximizing efficiency of our process and ensuring the accuracy of deliveries, packing and shipments. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented individual that exemplifies a passion for quality and can-do attitude.
A Textile Operator IV is responsible for the management and inspection of fabric. Rolls of fabric must be inspected in accordance with KnollTextiles Quality and Design standards and all applicable ISO requirements. This associate will be required to perform duties in skill-sets for which they are qualified. This associate must be responsible and accountable for performing their job functions and requirements.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Demonstrated ability and willingness to perform the duties of a Textile Operator IV according to the Textile Operations Job Functions and Requirements. Safely operate all applicable equipment to perform the tasks for those skill-sets for which they are qualified.
Refer to Textile Operations Job Functions and Requirements for a Textile Operator IV.
Accurately scans, measures, inspects, weighs, and documents fabric rolls in accordance with procedures.
Ability to handle and perform lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting.
Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
Utilize Oracle-EBS computer system to perform daily tasks.
Perform these functions within a fast-paced operation with established deadlines and time constraints.
Participate in Kaizens and problem-solving meetings.
RESOURCES UTILIZED:
All equipment as outlined in the Textile Operations Job Function Descriptions in those skills for which they are qualified.
Data Collection Terminals and handheld scanners.
Oracle/EBS computer system.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Heavy lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting.
Exposure to fabric dust.
Work with scissors and other cutting devices.
High eye stress level for long periods of time.
Exposure to dirty packages.
Fast paced operation with very short lead-times to meet daily deadlines (same day shipments).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
To become qualified as a Textile Operator IV, the associate must complete all aspects of the job training criteria for all required elements of the Textile Operations Job Function and Requirements. This criterion is outlined in the Textile Operations Job Functions Descriptions.
Must pass the Ishihara color blindness test.
Associate must possess good math and analytical skills.
Associate must be responsible for all aspects of safety, including the safety of other associates assigned to that function.
The demonstrated ability and willingness to: Comprehend, interpret, and process associated paperwork and data collection tasks.
Match and verify dyelot color against master samples.
Read, interpret, and convert standard and metric measurements, including decimals and fractions, and provide instructions in the use of applicable measuring devices.
Communicate with associates on all levels and shifts using written and oral communication skills.
Distinguish between different types of fabrics and conduct inspections in accordance with all quality criteria.
Identify and document flaws and defects in fabric and take proactive action to ensure customer expectations are met.
Identify and document potential problems and be proactive in identifying and implementing solutions.
Make decisions in accordance with the ISO Quality Criteria.
