Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage litigation cases from inception to resolution, including pre-litigation and title clearance for real property.
  • Develop, seek approval, and manage case budgets and legal strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive research and prepare detailed legal analyses on risks, exposure, and strategies.
  • Draft and argue pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Oversee all aspects of discovery, including document production, depositions, and interrogatories.
  • Develop and implement case strategy in collaboration with supervising partners and clients; maintain direct communication with clients.
  • Attend and represent the firm in court hearings, mediation sessions, settlement conferences, and other proceedings, both in-person and via telephonic or video platforms.
  • Assist with bankruptcy motions, hearings, and adversary proceedings as needed.
  • Handle other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in California and maintenance of all necessary licensing and MCLE requirements; additional licenses in the firm's other footprint states are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of foreclosure, real estate, secured transactions, and creditor's rights is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based research tools.
  • Ability to meet an annual hourly billing requirement of 1920 hours.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice law in California (additional state licenses are a plus).
