A law firm seeks a skilled attorney to join its team in Tysons Corner, VA, for a hybrid position, offering both in-office and remote work opportunities. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in either immigration law or family law. Proficiency in the Russian language is required, with additional language skills (Spanish or Farsi) being a significant advantage. This position provides the opportunity to start part-time with the potential to transition to a full-time role.

Duties:

  • Interact regularly with clients, providing legal advice and guidance
  • Supervise and mentor trained legal assistants, ensuring accurate document preparation
  • Attend court hearings and advocate on behalf of clients in family law or immigration matters
  • Review and approve legal documents prepared by assistants, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality in all legal matters
  • Manage a high caseload, demonstrating excellent multitasking skills and efficiency
  • Learn on the job and take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • Ensure responsibility and accountability in all aspects of case management

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in either immigration law or family law
  • Admission to the bar in MD, VA, or FL (admissions from other states considered for immigration law specialists)
  • Proficiency in the Russian language is required
  • Fluency in additional languages, especially Spanish or Farsi, is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction
  • Ability to handle a large volume of cases and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in MD, VA, FL, or other jurisdictions for immigration law specialists

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and document review
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases simultaneously
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and uphold ethical standards
  • Ability to learn new areas of law and adapt to changing legal requirements
  • Fluency in Russian (required), with preference for additional language skills in Spanish or Farsi
