Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a talented and driven Immigration Attorney to join its growing legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1-4 years of experience in immigration law to take on a challenging and rewarding role. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior attorneys while managing their caseload, engaging with clients, and contributing to strategic immigration solutions.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals, including non-detained and detained individuals.
  • Develop and implement immigration strategies, including family-based immigration petitions and removal defense.
  • Review and prepare immigration applications and documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Conduct intake sessions with detained individuals at immigration detention centers.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to stay informed of changes in immigration law.
  • Advise clients and potential clients on immigration options and prepare them for hearings or USCIS testimony.
  • Prepare legal briefs and documents for a wide range of immigration cases.
  • Manage a varied caseload efficiently, ensuring cases progress promptly.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients and assist them in navigating complex immigration matters.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Proven track record of handling immigration cases, including family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, detained matters, and USCIS applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and client-focused approach.
  • Experience with case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership in good standing.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Client-focused with a dedication to providing high-quality legal services.
