Senior Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm in San Juan is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to manage complex litigation cases. The ideal candidate will have substantial courtroom experience, exceptional legal writing skills, and the ability to handle a diverse caseload.

Duties:

• Draft and prepare litigation documents, including motions to dismiss, written discovery, and summary judgment motions
• Represent clients in state and federal courts, including appearances for hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
• Manage all aspects of litigation cases from inception through trial or settlement
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and third parties
• Supervise junior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff on litigation matters
• Ensure compliance with all legal standards and regulations
• Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on litigation risks and potential outcomes
• Collaborate with other practice groups within the firm on cross-functional matters

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Bar in the jurisdiction of San Juan
• Minimum 6+ years of experience practicing law with a focus on litigation
• Proven experience drafting and arguing motions in state and federal courts
• Experience managing multi-district litigation cases is preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in legal research tools and litigation support software
