Job Overview

A law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will manage a docket of personal injury cases, including motor vehicle collisions and premises liability. The Litigation Associate Attorney will be responsible for filing petitions, engaging in discovery, handling depositions, and attending court hearings, mediations, and trials. This role also includes managing a dedicated staff to ensure effective case management and client satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • File petitions and legal documents in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Engage in the discovery process, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and requests for production.
  • Conduct and handle depositions effectively.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Manage a docket of personal injury cases, including motor vehicle collisions and premises liability.
  • Supervise and mentor a dedicated staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Develop and implement case strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and manage expectations.
  • Participate in firm meetings and contribute to developing firm policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
  • Litigation experience, preferably in personal injury law.
  • Proven track record of managing a significant caseload.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas personal injury laws and procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas.

Skills

  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution.
