Duties:

  • Assist in all aspects of employment litigation, including class, collective, and PAGA actions and single-plaintiff actions.
  • Evaluate claims and provide strategic legal advice.
  • Handle mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation, including case strategy and witness preparation.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Engage in motion practice, including drafting and arguing motions.
  • Prepare position statements for administrative charge work.
  • Represent clients in arbitration and trial proceedings.
  • Draft and review employment policies and provide recommendations for improvements.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in handling employment litigation in California.
  • Proven experience with wage and hour class, collective, or PAGA actions.
  • Substantial experience in employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and leave interference claims, preferably with expertise representing management.
  • Experience with charges before the EEOC and similar state or local agencies.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California State Bar membership.

Skills:

  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including public speaking and client interaction.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and meet client demands efficiently.
  • Experience drafting employment policies and counseling employers on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws is preferred.
