December 31, 2012 — Pasadena, California — This December, the Manpower Employment Outlook Survey for Q1, 2013 found seven U.S. cities to be the best for seeking jobs in Q1 2013. According to MEOS, the seven metro areas are Cape Coral – Fort Meyers, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Tucson, AZ, San Francisco, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, Austin TX, and El Paso, TX.

Infographics published by MEOS (Where The Jobs Are, show the best states for jobs in 2013, Q1, are North Dakota, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Delaware, Nebraska and Texas. EmploymentCrossing job listings also found the highest growth in the posting of job openings in these states.

As of today, the number of job openings in Fort Myers, FL as listed on EmploymentCrossing are 21,732 with 17,850 jobs being added within the last 30 days in December.

In Phoenix, AZ, and Tucson, AZ, the number of total jobs listed on Employment Crossing were respectively 21,998 and 8,248. In the last 30 days, Phoenix had added 21,936 jobs, while Tucson 8,220 added jobs, showing a consistent job growth ready to spill over into 2013.

San Francisco jobs on Employment Crossing, at the end of December, stood at 88,806 job openings, with 70,267 jobs being added in the last 30 days.

Both Austin and El Paso, in Texas, showed 31,548 and 3,803 live job openings currently listed at EmploymentCrossing with new job openings posted within the last one month in Austin, and 3,188 jobs in El Paso.

Salt Lake City, UT, also shows a healthy job growth with 14,353 current jobs on EmploymentCrossing and 12,137 jobs having been added within the last one month.

The CEO of EmploymentCrossing, Harrison Barnes said “The fact that the statistics of live job openings posted on our site within the last one month confirms the trends posted by the MEOS, goes to show that we are on the right track, and our researchers are not missing a single job out there.”

Barnes further added, “2013 is going to be a slightly better year than the one just ended, and while the jobs might be returning slowly, region-wise, as rightly marked by MEOS, there is great disparity in economic recovery, and some states are clearly outstripping others, and positioning themselves as the best targets for skilled labor.”
