Tax Senior
The candidate will collaborate with and assist in the professional development of the firm's Tax staff. Participate in client proposals and other new business development opportunities. Gain a comprehensive understanding of a client's business operations, processes and objectives, and the tax implications they may face. Responsible for overall engagement planning, including budget, scheduling, billing, and collections. Review of corporate, partnership, and S-Corp tax returns for large companies, private equity, and emerging businesses. Review of multi-state corporate tax returns and consolidated tax returns. Preparation and completion of client tax provisions. Perform tax research and provide reliable solutions for tax issues identified that may impact client's business and their tax planning strategies. Review tax work completed by other tax staff members on engagements. Provide timely feedback and performance reviews for tax staff on assigned client engagements. Develop and sustain solid relationships with client personnel and other outside influencers. Keep firm Partners informed of engagement status and any issues identified that may impact the clients’ businesses. Communicate on behalf of clients with the IRS and other tax authorities, and represent clients at any potential tax audits. Participate in client proposal and new business development opportunities. Participate in market and business activities external to the firm. Remain current on latest tax practices and changes in tax laws. Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting or a Business-related field is required. An advanced tax degree (MST, J.D., LL.M., etc.) is a plus. Should have 2-5 years of relevant tax compliance experience working in a CPA firm, a professional services firm, or a tax consulting practice. Prior work experience preparing and reviewing corporate, partnerships, S-Corp, and individual tax returns is required. Prior work experience preparing tax provisions, consolidations, and multi-state transactions is required. Tax research utilizing CCH, ProSystem FX and other tax software programs is required. Experience supervising and mentoring other tax staff professionals is required. CPA license or EA (Enrolled Agent) designation is required.
