We are seeking a full-time Senior Planning & Quality Analyst to join the University’s central IT department: TIS (Technology and Information Services). TIS is responsible for providing high quality IT services on behalf of the University to its staff, students and visitors. We are looking for someone with the appropriate blend of desire, experience, knowledge and ability to help plan, quality assure and facilitate the IT services we deliver, and the processes we use to manage those IT services through their lifecycle. Duties include standards-compliance audits; service quality reviews; applying knowledge/experience (e.g. ITIL) to analyse processes/data and recommend improvements; coordinating improvements/changes/small projects; writing business reports; using a range of data management and visualisation technologies (O365, SQL etc.) to create and manage dashboards and scorecards, maintaining quality/reporting systems and associated data/transforms; aiding the coordination of strategic planning etc. This is an exciting time to join us. The post is in the ‘Service Quality Assurance and Facilitation Team’. This is a small, friendly team which plays a key role in the professional management of the entire IT service lifecycle. In conjunction with other team members, you will deliver effective quality assurance tasks and other duties to facilitate the effective and efficient management of services through their lifecycle. Reporting into the Planning & Quality Manager, you will utilise your knowledge and experience of ITIL to manage a process improvement project within TIS alongside other service quality assurance and facilitation duties such as coordinating annual business plans, data collection and production of TIS’ annual report, performing internal audits, analysing data, recommending improvements, writing business documents and reports, etc. You will have excellent analytical skills tied with ability to build trust and engage effectively with colleagues at all levels within TIS, sharing your insights through excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present complex data in non-technical language. You will be self-led and equally able to work as part of a team or independently.
