Description
The Senior Behavioral Economics Professional furthers Humana's path to a best in class Test and Learn organization, using both Behavioral Economics theory and Design of Experiment expertise to design novel nudges that are tested in rigorous business experiments. The Behavioral Economics Professional designs and implements nudges and the appropriate practical experiment to test, execute, and measure the results. The Behavioral Economics Professional works on problems of diverse scope and complexity.

The Senior Behavioral Economics Professional provides an opportunity to join the Clinical Trend & Analytics team within Humana to build a world class Data Science and Insights enterprise capability leveraging digital-first platforms, analytics, and agile development methodologies.
This role works cross-functionally and collaboratively with teams across Humana to design interventions based on behavioral economic theory to overcome barriers and biases preventing healthy decisions. In addition, the Behavioral Economics Professional will design, execute, and analyze business experiments testing the nudges, with emphasis on randomized control studies when appropriate.
The Senior Behavioral Economics Professional interprets and communicates insights and findings, and applies economic and econometric principles. Advises business partners to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision. Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
Evangelize behavioral economics across a diverse organization
Assist in curating a library of learnings to establish enterprise best practices
Interpret and apply economic literature to inform nudges to affect specific behaviors and identify appropriate examples to publish
Develop strategies to engage members into clinical programs and partner with teams to frame communications to members
Design field experiments to test impact of the nudges
Role Essentials
Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Behavioral Sciences, Applied Statistics or related field
5 or more years of experience in behavioral economics OR PhD with 3 years of experience
Experience designing and applying nudges to overcome biases and constraints
History of solving problems, creating solutions and driving change within a team
Naturally curious and comfortable with ambiguity
Demonstrated strategic and analytical thinking
Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and consulting skills
Role Desirables
Experience conducting lab or field experiments
Master's or PhD Degree in Economics, Behavioral Sciences, Applied Statistics or related field
Experience conducting microeconomic or behavioral science research
Work experience in a health care and/or Insurance setting
Experience working with and analyzing various types of data using SAS, R, Python or similar software
Additional Information
For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work.
