Position Summary
Under Armour is seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to join our growing eCommerce Engineering team. The Software Engineering Manager will hold responsibility for front-end initiatives across multiple platforms. This individual will be responsible for several teams that include the resources focused on supporting Go-To-Market initiatives, and oversight of the A/B testing teams. It will require oversight and guidance for both full-time and consultants over architectural approaches and long-term solutioning. The ideal candidate has a passion for collaboration with cross-functional partners and is eager to find creative solutions to technical issues. This candidate will collaborate closely with partners locally and from offices around the globe, enabling UA teammates to work smarter.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee and organize multiple projects with varying complexity
Oversight of support and new feature development specific to our Go To Market initiatives with heavy involvement and oversight of our CMS system and A/B testing practices
Collaborate, design, drive data-based decisions, architect, and implement new solutions across cross-functional teams
Mentor, recruit, on-board and guide engineering teammates
Act as an owner for setting standards and best practices to improve velocity, quality, availability, and scalability based on both technical and business considerations
Refine and improve Software Development Life Cycle for your team
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Expertise with modern web development - focus on frontend capabilities (Javascript, React, NextJS, SCSS, HTML)
Experience working with a content management system
Experience with mobile-first web development
Ability to support & guide work including frontend development, enhancing performance, A/B tests, SEO, accessibility, and efficient content delivery
Ideal candidate has exposure to some of the following disciplines/practices:
Tagging & Analytics (ex: Adobe DTM/Launch, Tealium, Google Tag Manager)
Content Management Systems (ex: CoreMedia, Magnolia, Contentful, AEM),
A/B Testing (ex: Adobe Target, AB Tasty, Evergage)
Nice to have, but not required: knowledge of Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) or other commerce platforms, experience building a headless storefront
Education And / Or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or 7 years of hands-on experience in a development environment.
Minimum of 1 year people manager experience preferred
Strong desire to learn and is quick to pick up new concepts
Passion for development and ability to dig into solving problems
