We reached out to flight attendants across the country and asked them for their stories. We liked what we heard, so we wanted to share these two stories with you. Hopefully you enjoy them as much as we did. Feel free to share your own stories or comments below the article.

One was doing a trip to Tel Aviv out of JFK, coming back to JFK and expecting to go home. Rather than being allowed to go home, our crew was put up in a local hotel so we could get a few hours of sleep, and we were sent to do a flight out of Anchorage, AK to Korea. Guess what? We only had "summery" clothes with us for the trip to Tel Aviv. We landed in Anchorage with snow up to our hips, and no winter clothes. From that point on, I carried winter boots with me on EVERY trip! :)

I worked for a UK charter before I joined BA. Lots of crazy stuff but one of the best was trip to the Greek island - supposed to a routine there-and-back but as we took off back to London we hit something on the runway. After an emergency brief we returned to the Greek island, crossing fingers we'd land ok. All was fine until the ground staff decided the passengers should stay on board while the aircraft was fixed. The passengers were not happy (understandably) and after a gathering in the back galley and trying to persuade me to open the door, two men laid on the floor, one of them yelling "I will die if I don't get a cigarette! Then what will you do?" Me; "I'll get the def-fib down and resuscitate you Sir."

That's why I now run a bookshop.
